Chevy’s 2013 Camaro ZL Convertible

| Camaros For Sale | March 3, 2013

If memory serves me right, it was sometime late last year that Chevy officially released some information with regards to it’s outstanding Camaro For Sale Coupe ZL1. To refresh your memory, here’s what we’re looking at. A supercharged 6.2LSA V8 capable of numbers such as 580 Horsepower and 556 lb-ft torque, which to me screams king of the road! And now, it looks like this model will also be available in a ragtop model as well. The best part? Their not going to turn down any of its specs! And with that, this Camaro should be the most powerful convertible to ever hit the road. Yet another successful milestone achieved by the boys over at Chevrolet. This can’t help but make me wonder if they’ve got any other tricks up their sleeve when it comes to the poster boy of muscle cars, the Used Corvette For Sale.

But anyway, let’s turn our attention back to this bad boy. It seems that about 90% of all the upgrades that the ZL1 Coupe got will also be prominently featured on its convertible counterpart as well. This includes that front clip with stacked ancillary lights, the big nosed hood, muscled up transmission, firmer back end components and quadruple mufflers! But, when you put into consideration that convertible models are a tad bit heavier, this probably will struggle to reach the self-proclaimed time of 7:41.27 Nürburgring Lap that the coupe model is currently boasting. And the weight gain we’re talking about here isn’t of pea size numbers. We’re talking about some serious weight gain, a total of nearly 270 pounds! This leads us to predict that the New Camaro Convertible should be able to clock in a time of 4+ secs when going from 0-60 mph and a quarter mile run done in an estimated less than 13 secs. Not very inspiring numbers, but when you realize that this is 270 pounds heavier than the coupe, these numbers are definitely not bad at all!

COPO Camaro Rolling Out

| Camaros For Sale | January 31, 2013

I don’t know if you guys can recall, but a few posts ago, I mentioned that Chevrolet caught us all with our pants down when they gave word that  the COPO Camaro For Sale that was shown off at SEMA will be headed to their factories for mass production. Originally, this was supposed to be just a concept car, but with positive vibes flooding their senses, it seems they made a decision to actually put the COPO  Camaro on their production line.

The four early bird COPO Brand New Camaro’s have already made it’s way out of their respective assembly facilities. COPO numbers 3 , 5 , 7 and 9 were carefully loaded on to a transport truck. And here’s the juicy part. Number 7 was actually caught on camera and the main highlights of that video was the loud roar it emitted from it’s Godzilla like engine. And I don’t know if you noticed, but one of the most intimidating features of the COPO is it’s huge induction hood. I can’t imagine something like that on a more refined design such as the Porsche For Sale. Anyway, that hood couple with a set of hoosier’s really makes the COPO a very intriguing animal to own.

With regards to it’s competition on the drag strip, the COPO will go up against the likes of the supercharged Ford Mustang Cobra Jet and the Mopar Challenger Drag Pak. Though those two competitors are very worthy opponents, the COPO will be heavily equipped with a choice of engines. One can go with the naturally aspirated 427 or maybe use the two supercharged 327, one of which will have 2.9L supercharger and the other offering a 4.0L screw.

Play the video below to get a glimpse of how fun this COPO is going to be.

European Chevrolet Camaro slighty different

| Camaros For Sale | December 5, 2012

Chevrolet is an American brand and the Camaro For Sale is definitely an American design. With that put into retrospect, you’d think that Americans will be able to get the best possible design, interior and exterior. But that photo above seems to contradict my belief. If you made an American or any individual choose between those two tail lights right there, I’m pretty sure 9 out of 10 would select the European version. Exported cars are known to have minor differences with their American counterparts, but these LED tail lights on Europe’s Used Camaro For Sale doesn’t look one bit minor to me. I know it’s just tail lights, but to know that they are getting LED’s for the same price that we pay is a head scratcher. Aside from that though, no other exterior modifications were spotted.

An important difference is what we’re getting under the hood. Usually, its Americans that produce the muscle version of cars. We are known for the muscular Corvettes For Sale afterall. Not the case though with the Camaro. The Euro version has a six speed manual trim with a 6.2L LS3 V8 engine that erupts for 432 horses. What we get locally is a six speed automatic, 6.2L L99 V8 engine featuring Active Cylinder Management, giving us 405 horses. That’s 27 horses less than what they get. I’m sure they have their reasons as to why Europeans get LED and a better engine, I’m just not sure if I agree to those reasons, whatever it may be.

2012 Camaro Convertible SLP Edition

| Camaros For Sale | November 17, 2012

If you asked a random person on the street if the Chevrolet Camaro For Sale needed more horse power to become a legitimate monster sports car, you’ll get a “No” all the time. It’s well documented how fast this car can go in ample amount of time. So obviously, the last thing it would need is more horse power. Yeah, tell that to the guys over at Street Legal Performance (SLP).

The already dominating Used Camaro For Sale just got even better with an additional ZL1 package. The 1969 original version had a hyphen, the ZL-1. It was sold to 69 very satisfied customers that year. In remembrance of that moment, only 69 ZL1′s will be made by SLP. The price tag though is not for the faint hearted. The starting base price of a Camaro is at $32,750, which people think just too much. Chevrolet disagrees. You see, the ZL1 package being offered by SLP will require its buyers to invest an addition $80,000! But I have to admit that it can be viewed as a bargain because you’ll really be getting your money’s worth.

The Camaro Convertible SLP edition will come with a supercharged aluminum-block V-8 engine. And for even more crazy power, SLP will also be adding a 7.0 liter LS7 that will output a mind blowing 750hp compared to what Chevrolet offers, which is a 6.2 LSA that outputs 580hp.

However, there are some stats that I’d like to share with you guys. Interestingly, SLP’s ZL1 edition clocked in a time of 4.2 seconds when starting from 0 to 60 mph. It’s quarter mile run recorded a time of 12.3 seconds with a finishing speed of 119mph. The scratching of the head moment comes with higher speeds though. It can race to a speed of 150mph in just 19.8 seconds!

If this is car that you are actually planning to buy, only to find out that the 69 manufactured ones have already been bought, don’t worry. SLP will be glad to build you a similar one. Very kind of Chevrolet to allow that in my opinion.

Quarter Mile in 11.93 seconds recorded by 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

| Camaros For Sale | November 13, 2012

Fun, Fun and more Fun! That’s what went down at the drag track in Bondurant, Arizona. To be more precise, what happened was we took a stock model of the Chevrolet Camaro For Sale ZL1 and ran it several times along the quarter mile track! The result of the first trial alone had us astonished as it clocked in a time somewhere along the mid 12 second range. If you factor in that this is a brand new stock car equipped with road legal tires and the driver still familiarizing himself with the car, that time is mighty impressive! We knew right away that it was only a matter of time till it hit the 11 second mark.

If you’re asking yourself who are the people behind all this, well it’s none other that the engineering staff at General Motors itself! Two stock models of the New Camaro ZL1 was taken to the track, one an automatic and the other a manual. After a few more trials, the wait was finally put to an end as the Automatic clocked in a time of 11.93 seconds at 116mph, while the manual had 11.96 seconds at 117mph. Very eye opening moment indeed. This should come as really great news for people that plan to drag race their new Camaro ZL1. And if track racing with tricky turns is more your thing, then the absolute top of the line model Camaro is what you’d want to invest in. Take into contest it’s lap time at Nürburgring was clocked to be at 7 minutes and 41 seconds.

Now, I know there are definitely Ford Mustang fans reading this to check out what their rival has to offer, and hearing this type of news can put loyal Mustang fans in disbelief. So not only am I going to tell you that this is true, but I will also show you that this actually happened. Play the video below to witness the Camaro ZL1 enter the 11 second club.

Chevrolet Eyes to challenge Mustang Boss 302 with Camaro 1LE

| Camaros For Sale | November 13, 2012

Chevrolet and Ford are at it again! The Camaro ZL1 For Sale was designed to specifically challenge the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. If you ask me, those 2 cars are pretty even and it’ll totally depend on driver skills as to who wins between the two. But now, we hear that Chevrolet also has it’s sight set on dethroning the Mustang Boss 302 as well with a new trim called the Camaro 1LE.

Based on inside information from posts on the Camaro5.com forums, we are lead to believe that buyers will have a special option for the 2013 New Camaro For Sale. The 1LE pack will be introduced as a new performance track package which will boast a number of upgrades such as vastly improved aerodynamics, an innovative front splitter and a more aggressively designed rear spoiler that actually helps lessen unfavorable air movement (splitter and spoiler colored in gray). This model will also be getting the impressive red Brembo brake calipers, a matte black vinyl hood and 20 inch rims that will come along with Goodyear Eagle Supercar tires. The reason I specified the color of those parts is because they will be painted with those exact colors regardless of what body paint you choose.

The Camaro 1LE will also be more durable as it will gain larger front and rear sway bars and a firmer axle half shaft, making this able to sustain more track wear and tear than the base Camaro SS and ZL1. Six speed manual transmission and liquid cooling system will be offered across the board for the 1LE. An impressive optional package is the dual mode exhaust, which is derived from the Chevrolet Corvette.

So with the Camaro 1LE rigged with all these assortment of upgrades, is it ready to take on the Mustang Boss 302? Well, I know for a fact that the Boss 302 offers customers an engine that emits 444 horsepower and lots a valuable upgrades. I’d say, yes the 1LE does put the Camaro on the same page as the Boss 302, but I don’t think it will put up much of a fight as Chevrolet would hope it too. Still, these are strides deserving recognition!

69 Copo Camaros to be built by Chevrolet

| Camaros For Sale | November 13, 2012

When Chevrolet showed off this Copo Camaro For Sale at SEMA last year, we were literally speechless as this was a clear definition of drag racing power. But there was no official statement or rumors if this was ever to hit the production line. Couldn’t help myself but think that Chevy would be out of their minds if they decided against it. And so it comes to me as no surprise when word got out that this Copo version of the New Camaro will now be a reality as it hits production. However, it will be of limited numbers only as they strictly plan to only produce 69 models. And yes there is a special meaning to that number but it’s not a Kamasutra thing if you know what I mean. The reason behind the number is Chevy is celebrating the 69 Copo Camaro ZL1 which was manufactured in 1969. What would make this Copo look better is if it had racing stripes, similar to that of a Dodge Viper For Sale. To me, if something is built for the sole purpose of racing, stripes make it look that much faster.

At first, it was announced that we will be offered two engine options, a 427b cubic inch V8 made for AA Stock Racing and the other a 327 cubic inch V8 couple with a 4.0 Supercharger for A Stock Racing. Now, a third engine option has been added to the mix. This one is for B Stock Racing, namely a 327 cubic inch V8, similar to the on for A Stock Racing, but it’s couple with only a 2.9 Supercharger. Now let’s say you’re a serious professional racer that wants in on all the action, AA, A and B Stock Racing. You don’t have to buy 3 different Copo Camaro’s. What they’ll do is install one of the engines you prefer on the Copo and provide you with the 2 other engines. A bit of a neat idea if you ask me. For color schemes, we’re told we will have Metallic White, Semi-Gloss Black, Inferno Orange Metallic and Chevy Racing Blue.

Base Price of this special Camaro is set at $89,000. Now this won’t exactly be displayed at your local dealership. Visit our blog regularly to find out how you can be part of the special 69 people that will own this Copo Camaro.

Corvette ZR1 versus Camaro ZL1 at VIR

| Camaros For Sale | October 19, 2012

It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard any news or action concerning the Dodge Viper for Sale. One can say things are real quite on their end. Secret design and upgrades? Perhaps. But one thing is for sure. The Chevrolet Corvette for Sale will forever be America’s iconic monster car. But what about it’s “little brother”, the Camaro for sale? If you haven’t noticed by now, it’s starting to gain worldwide exposure thanks to the Hollywood blockbuster Transformers. Question is, how does it fare against the Corvette in real life?

Now, just by judging the price tag and the engine specifications of the two cars, the winner should be crystal clear to anyone who can read. However, the people at Chevrolet decided to pit the two against each other to see just how far the Corvette is from the Used Camaro for sale. And thus, the top of the line models from both cars were taken to Virginia International Raceway. A Corvette ZR1 and a Camaro ZL1 were about to go at it and I can’t help but hope the Camaro comes out as the winner. I’m a huge fan of underdogs. So off they went, running laps again and again for some serious fun. Officials at VIR even said that the Corvette set a new fastest lap record done by a stock car. If you want a taste of what went done in VIR that day, feel free to play the videos below.

2012 Camaro ZL1 Online Configurator

| Camaros For Sale | October 16, 2012

Have you ever played one of those racing video games on a PC or Console where you used in game currency to buy cars, then brought them to an in game shop and toyed with all sorts of upgrades that were applicable? For those that are able to relate to what I’m saying, it was sure a lot of fun pretending to be able to buy any car and put on whatever part we wanted. But wouldn’t it be that much more exciting if we were able to do that to a real car with real parts? Well, the guys over at Chevrolet seems to think so and they have actually decided to put up a Camaro For Sale online configurator!

Their iconic car can now be customized to contain the specifications you want it have before it lands on to your garage, online garage that is. The base model of this New Camaro is by no means cheap by the way. Since it will be rocking a 6.2L V8 engine that outputs roughly about 580hp, Chevrolet has put the starting price tag at a modest $54,995. The paint is one of the options that you may customize but I have to say that I am a really big fan of a yellow Camaro. And yes you guessed it right, I love Bumblebee the transformer. Which is more than I can say for a yellow Used Corvette For Sale. Yellow just does not look good or decent at all on a Corvette. Other major customizable options include transmission choice, sun roof, wheel finish and last but in no way the least, faux suede interior bits. Yes, the decision tree being offered by the configurator does seem extremely limited but if you think about how this model is being built for serious performance intentions and that this is actually a sort of special edition that will be produced in small volumes, the choices they offer does look to be generous.
