If memory serves me right, it was sometime late last year that Chevy officially released some information with regards to it’s outstanding Camaro For Sale Coupe ZL1. To refresh your memory, here’s what we’re looking at. A supercharged 6.2LSA V8 capable of numbers such as 580 Horsepower and 556 lb-ft torque, which to me screams king of the road! And now, it looks like this model will also be available in a ragtop model as well. The best part? Their not going to turn down any of its specs! And with that, this Camaro should be the most powerful convertible to ever hit the road. Yet another successful milestone achieved by the boys over at Chevrolet. This can’t help but make me wonder if they’ve got any other tricks up their sleeve when it comes to the poster boy of muscle cars, the Used Corvette For Sale.
But anyway, let’s turn our attention back to this bad boy. It seems that about 90% of all the upgrades that the ZL1 Coupe got will also be prominently featured on its convertible counterpart as well. This includes that front clip with stacked ancillary lights, the big nosed hood, muscled up transmission, firmer back end components and quadruple mufflers! But, when you put into consideration that convertible models are a tad bit heavier, this probably will struggle to reach the self-proclaimed time of 7:41.27 Nürburgring Lap that the coupe model is currently boasting. And the weight gain we’re talking about here isn’t of pea size numbers. We’re talking about some serious weight gain, a total of nearly 270 pounds! This leads us to predict that the New Camaro Convertible should be able to clock in a time of 4+ secs when going from 0-60 mph and a quarter mile run done in an estimated less than 13 secs. Not very inspiring numbers, but when you realize that this is 270 pounds heavier than the coupe, these numbers are definitely not bad at all!
